The battlement and turrets featured in 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves' as Nottingham castle and also inspired Walt Disney to produce the castles in the film Sleeping Beauty and his theme parks. The popular novel 'Labyrinth' by Kate Mosse also takes place inside the walls, and the town gives it name to a popular boardgame, copies of both are of course in the villa.
